One of the places that I try not to miss is historic mission when I visit towns in California. In Santa Barbara, there is a well preserved 18th century mission, the Old Mission Santa Barbara. I am not sure if the building was rebuilt or restored, but the front facade of the mission looks so great. Although it is not a grand scale building, for some reasons, mysteriously it looks like a gigantic building. I am not sure if it just me. The courtyard and garden are wonderfully arranged and there you can see the father Junipero Serra statue. There is also a graveyard which is the final rest place for many Indians settled in the mission.
