Airlines sometimes do weird things as they organize their logistics. I was booked on a Qantas flight, but it was operated by Air Vanuatu. That really is not odd in the code sharing system. It was a flight between Port Vila, Vanuatu, and Brisbane, Australia. But actually the crew and airplane were from Nauru Airways, and I was wondering if there was some error. I was just hoping the captain knew where he was flying. This was evidently a wet lease operation where one airline charters another’s plane with crew to serve a route.
