Oasis Pyramids Hotel Review in Giza, Egypt

Giza Governorate, Giza Governorate, Egypt
12 Kudos
I recently embarked on a 10-day tour though Timeless Tours in Egypt which began and ended in Cairo at this hotel, the Oasis Pyramids Hotel in Giza. It's located very far from the airport and there is very little if anything of interest in the immediate vicinity of the hotel other than the Pyramids being nearby. It's a very busy hotel with several tour groups using the facilities seemingly at all hours of the day. The grounds are huge, very lovely, and well spread out. It's generally quiet at night, too. The pool area is very nice with areas to lounge and have drinks and eat as well. Now for the negatives: Wifi is free in the pool area but very poor. Everyone had trouble trying to connect at all hours of the day. If you want Wifi in the rooms, they'll charge you which isn't worth it considering it barely works to begin with. Breakfast was good but the dinners were bland and they don't serve much. If you order a sandwich, they'll serve it on a stale hot dog bun so don't get any sandwiches. The pizza was okay, though. Prices are quite steep compared to other hotels we stayed at later in the tour. There isn't much in the area for food options so you're pretty much stuck to eat whatever is at the hotel during your free time, if any, on your tour group. The hotel is okay for a two night stay but nothing more!
Story Details

Cairo International Airport Road
Cairo International Airport is located far away from the hotel. Depending on the time of day, it can take well over an hour and up to two hours to get to/from the airport and the hotel due to crazy, disorganized, chaotic traffic.

Culture and experiences

Pyramid of Djoser Road
The step pyramids of the 3rd dynasty date back almost 5,000 years.
Great Sphinx of Giza
The Great Sphinx of Giza is the famous lion head shrine at the Giza Necropolis.
Giza Plateau
The hotel is located just 15 minutes away from the famous Giza Pyramids. You'll pass them on the way to/from the hotel.

The Oasis Hotel
Stayed here for two nights at the start of the tour and 1 night at the end of the tour. Very far from central Cairo but close to the pyramids.
