I fell in love with this building as soon as it was pointed out to me. We were walking past on a Malta walking tour and almost missed the structure as the limestone blocks and red doors and window are built into (under?) a limestone bluff overlooking the Mediterranean. Malta has done a wonderful job of expanding the tourist experience to the far reaches of the islands by publishing little maps and descriptions of Walks that one can follow on your own. Have to imagine this is a farmers ‘shed’ holding the equipment and materials necessary to harvest the salt from the vast pans behind the hill.
