Not For The Faint of Heart

Traveling to Hawaii right now or anywhere that requires a negative COVID test is not for the faint of heart. This experience tested my travel patience and for the first time we had the car packed with our bags ready to go and unsure of whether it would be a go or no go 1.5 hours before our flight departed. I had to reschedule our flights twice while waiting for our test results and delayed our arrival with the resort by one day. On our day of arrival, as long as we took the test and were awaiting results, we could still enter Kauai but we only felt comfortable going unless we had confirmed negative tests in hand. It was not until after we showed our QR codes to the airport personnel in Lihue and got passed the National Guard when I could finally breathe. I would only do this again with very flexible airline and hotel arrangements which I had with Southwest and Hyatt.
