National Textile Museum

Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
8 Kudos
One thing about traveling with a costumer maker is that you can never pass up any kind of museum, exhibition, or gallery mentioning anything about costume, clothing, textiles, or anything else you may be able to stitch together into a loin cloth. The National Textile museum of Kuala Lumpur is not a particularly extensive collection. But it is a fabulous introduction to the regions traditional clothing, many of its customs and arts, as well as an explanation to many of the industries still present today in the country. One of the most interesting parts was the step by step demonstration of how batik cloth and art is made.
