The National Gallery of Canada is brilliant and the architecture itself is reason enough to see this gallery. The collection is wonderful and they do a great job with exhibits. The Chapel, the Death of General Wolfe painting, and First Nation Art are the highlights. The museum is well curated, light and airy, and the surrounding plaza is nice too and within walking distance of the Ottawa market area. This beautiful and interesting gallery adds sophistication to Ottawa’s collection of National buildings. Always changing exhibits, a lovely casual restaurant, and breathtaking views. Only a few minutes walk from Parliament Hill, this is a place where everyone should visit whether you like art or not.
