The National Archives in Washington, D.C. holds the three most important documents of the United States: the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence. All these important documents are displayed in the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom. The National Archives is conveniently located along the National Mall between the Washington Monument and the United States Capitol and just across from Museums of the Smithsonian Institution. The Rotunda is open to the public and advanced reservation for a visit is not necessary. Guided tours are also available! It is an absolutely must-see place when visiting our nation’s capital!
