Continuing on with my theme of mom and pop type establishments, which I know we all love to experience, some friends and I visited the Nathaniel Reid Bakery in Kirkwood, Missouri for lunch. In all honesty, this is more of a bakery (as it says in the name) than a restaurant. So while we had a nice little lunch, consisting of sandwiches or salads, or quiche (which I had and the spinach and mushroom one was delicious) the baked items were the main attraction. I tried the Camille, which was a lemon cream mousse, raspberries and almond cake. It is a small place, and doesn’t have a lot of seating, but perhaps if the owner is successful, he will expand.
