Every June, Hunter Mountain in Hunter, NY hosts the annual Mountain Jam festival. Hunter is just a couple hours north of New York City, located in the scenic Catskills. The festival is always a great time, whether you go for 1 or 2 days, or camp for all 4. There's a great variety of music, good food and drinks, and beautiful scenery. Plus, you can ride the ski lift during the day if you need to take a break up in the clouds. Michael Franti always leads at least 1 yoga lesson, and there are massage booths for some deep tissue relaxation. Not to mention, if you are looking for some fun there are literally hundreds of nearby hikes, swimming holes and scenic views. This year, Tom Petty, String Cheese Incident, Matisyahu, Michael Franti, Moon Hooch, Steve Miller Band and MANY other greats took the stage and rocked our socks off. My favorite moment was dancing to String Cheese during their double set late on Friday night! These are the moments you relive over and over in your head. If you can ever make it to the mountain, it's DEFINITELY worth it!!!
Great place to see an outdoor festival, attend an event or of course, go skiing!
