Monticello is a historic plantation located right next to the city of Charlottesville, Virginia. This plantation is famous as the plantation as a possession of the 3rd president Thomas Jefferson. Monticello is actually in everyone's hand as it was depicted on the reverse side of nickel. The mansion looks very impressive and it is well preserved. There are many connecting rooms, impressive library and great courtyard. The size of the plantation is huge and you can see far reaching greenery hills around the mansion. Just bit off from the lavish mansion however is Mulberry Row which was used as place for the slaves. This historic plantation is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site along with neighboring University of Virginia, which was also designed by Thomas Jefferson.
