Mont Saint-Michel is a small island off Normandy, France. It is famous because of a monastery built there in the 8th Century, and because the island can be approached by foot during low tide. However, the sands are treacherous and it is not advised to do that.
Don't worry, there is a road that will take you to the island, and hundreds of tourists do so every day.
At the foot of the island, there are many tourist shops on the path that takes you up to the monastery.
It is a very photographed location, and it is supposed to be extra special at night, when the monastery is illuminated.
