I have seen several large chairs when I travel. They usually are decorated with motifs from the city and say Welcome to (name of City) or something like that. So I got a kick out of the big chair in Princeton, Minnesota. It was on the middle of the hill near a park. It has no plaque or description and is pretty much your north woods kind of chair and a perfect chair for an understated city such as Princeton. Right next to the Rum river, Princeton was a big logging city back in the day. Maybe one of these logs from the chair once floated in the river?
Points of interest
This photo was in the local museum. It's kind of sad if the horses had to pull all those logs?! But maybe the picture was just for show?
Princeton, MN was a popular logging town and logs were sent down the Rum River.
