Only recently has Michelin begun awarding Michelin stars to street food establishments. Receiving a star is one of the highest culinary achievements for a restaurant. Singapore has a few street food establishments with a star and I was lucky enough to visit the Tai Hwa Pork Noodle restaurant. For about $6 you can have an amazing and authentic bowl of noodle soup. The line when I went was about 45 minutes long but it was well worth it to eat Michelin star food for the first time. Going at off peak hours is the best way to not wait so long in line.
