Daytona International Speedway was something that we wanted to do, but never made time to. We finally made ourselves visit the opposite coast of Florida and on one of our days there, we visited the speedway. It was very cool, with a tour being given that took us on the track, to look into the garages and there were items within the hallways of the speedway that were pretty cool. One thing that we noticed, but most people walked by, was the outside walkway that had a small plaque or hand/footprint of the past winners of the Daytona 500. It was really neat to see who had won each year and the way that they had it set up outside looked nice. We basically had this whole area to ourselves, so we spent some time checking out the winners from years past and the kids checked to see who had won the most. A true race fan should not miss this part of the speedway.
