The Sultan Abdul Samad building is the center piece of Merdeka square. This is the historic epicenter of Kuala Lumpur, and from it you can easily get to most of the cultural sites of the city. The building itself is fascinating in design, with multiple spiraling towers, countless archways disappearing into the distance and even a clock tower reaching out of the center. It is this unique combination of western and Moorish architectural influences that make it more than just an old building. It is one of the most photographed structures in the city, other than than the towers themselves.
