When we were in Manchester we visited Manchester Art Gallery. It was nice to find out that this gallery is free, because so many museums in England are quite expensive. It is centrally located and has a very nice and diverse collection of art pieces from the different time periods. Mostly European artists and some roman/sculptures. Several galleries are dedicated to 19th century British art. Collection also includes ceramics, glass, and costumes. There is a very nice cafe inside and we had a delightful lunch, coffee and freshly baked desserts. Overall very pleasant visit where we managed to avoid art fatigue.
