The Malahide Castle is a small, yet beautiful castle, located about 30 minutes outside of downtown Dublin. It dates back to the 12th century, and was given to the Talbot family. It was a tourist attraction for many years, and still remains one today, but you must buy tickets for a guided tour if you want to enter and take a look around. There are also botanical gardens that you can visit those without paying a fee. Tour buses run from downtown Dublin to the castle, making it easy to access even if you do not have a rental car on your trip.
