Thirty minutes outside of Dublin lies Malahide Castle. The city of Malahide is north of the city and is easily accessible by train. Once you arrive at the train station, the castle is a bit of a walk. I remember it being about 30 minutes of walking, and the scenery was nice. The castle is part of a larger regional park and is set on about 260 acres. During our visit, we saw families having picnics on grounds, and also cricket games being played at the regional park's sporting area. Upon walking back from the castle, we visited the city of Malahide for lunch.
