During our two day cruise stop in Dublin, Ireland one of our excursion stops was Malahide Castle and Gardens near the Village of Malahide. This is about 9 miles north of Dublin. It’s a beautiful castle inside and out and sits on 260 acres. There are ruins of the Malahide Abbey and cemetery are a stones throw away from the castle. We did not have enough time to walk around the entire gardens but we did visit a small portion including the butterfly house. This estate was established starting in 1185 and was owned by the Talbot Family for most of the time from 1185 to 1976.
