Malacca's maritime museum or the Flora de Lamar is a remake of a Portuguese ship sitting right on the coastal waters of the city. The ship is 34 meters tall and the museum showcases the history of Malaaca as a marine power. Paintings demonstrating the importance of the location on trading and defense in the area are setup next to exhibits of some of the products traded in the area. Some of the silk, textile, and porcelain products combined with recovered articles from ships sunk in the region are displayed as well. Admission at the time of my visit was merely 3RMB, and although the whole walk through won't take you long it is worth that pittance to see the ship.
