Magnolia Plantations is just a quick drive outside of Charleston and definitely worth the trip. They have beautiful grounds as well as information on the slavery that kept it running. They have an original antebellum slave cabin and we went on a slave talk to learn more about it. It is horrible to imagine people living in such terrible conditions. We also went on a nature tour which took us all around the grounds and we saw alligators, peacocks, etc as well as another group of slave houses. They also had a petting farm, bicycling, rowing, a swamp garden, a maze and a house. The whole place was in bloom and it was just really gorgeous.
