Lots to See and Do in the Golden Gates National Recreation Area

Sausalito, CA, United States
23 Kudos
On the north side of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge lies a large nature and historical preserve, the Gold Gate National Recreation Area. At over 82,000 acres the area includes beautiful beaches, scenic overlooks and historical sites. When I visited, I drove around some of the interesting old barracks which have been converted for different uses. Next, drove down for sunset at the beautiful Rodeo Beach. It was a cool scene in the parking lot, people hanging out and drink wine while the sun lit up the sky. Last stop was along the south side for some amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge at night.
