Lima's historic old town is definitely a place not to miss when you visit Peru. This is the place where you can see how and where the city of Lima started. There are tons of landmark buildings. You can naturally mingle with locals in local restaurants to see what their everyday life is. Interesting things that I noticed are there are many polices some of them are patrolling the square and street and some of them are ready for group of protesters(?) but all seemed to be peaceful and quiet, local people's breakfast places provide extremely inexpensive foods, quite a few of street shoe-shiners, ladies wearing traditional Incan costume selling snacks, etc. They all seem to be interesting to foreign visitors like me.
