A few years ago, I was on the Big Island for one of their many scares. This time it was lava threatening the town of Pahoa. Just upslope this pic was taken as the flow crept through forest land, on it's way to the sleepy little town of hippies. Just before it came to the road, it stopped. It actually entered the waste management facility just on the edge of town as it stopped. It's a way of life in this area, and you realize who is in control, and it's not you. Earth churning, recycling, and pushing forth new matter.
