Kenrokuen Garden is a beautiful Japanese garden in Kanazawa. It is considered to be one of the best gardens in Japan. The garden's construction began in the 1620s and it took over 200 years to complete. The garden was open to the public only in 1871. The Maeda family that controlled the area kept adding things to the garden all the way until the 1840s. Kenrokuen Garden has almost 9,000 trees and over 180 species of plants. It was designed with every season in mind so it looks spectacular regardless of the season, which also makes it a popular spot for fall colors and cherry blossoms.
