Jimmy Carter National Historic sight in Plains, Georgia is actually a pretty cool place to visit. This beloved president and humanitarian was born in this Georgia town and still lives there today, so naturally they have made quite a big deal about the popularity he has brought to the town. This stop was at the visitor center at the National sight and where they keep the pictured desk that once belonged to Jimmy Carter. The visitor center has some great information and a video that runs for about twenty minutes that does a good job of explaining the accomplishments of Carter. It might not be one of your typical stops, but I recommend it if you are in the area.
