I Left My Heart in San Francisco

San Francisco, CA, United States

Oh San Francisco, where to even begin… If you are looking to relax on your vacation or to save a few bucks, or even for any kind of convenience, I would not advise you visit San Francisco for your first time with this notion. However, if you are seeking the thrill of city life, booming night life and culture, then this is the place for you. I have visited the city more times than I can count, and while I could never live in such an expensive/inconvenient city, I do not mind coming for a few days to enjoy everything it has to offer. From the touristy spots such as the Embarcadero and Golden Gate Park to the downtown pockets of culture such as China Town and Little Italy, you will definitely not run out of things to see during your stay. There are a plethora of plays to see at any given time, live music in almost every bar and art for sale on street corners. You may pay $18 for your gin and tonic, but it will have to be the trade-off for the people watching you can get sitting out on a patio on California St.

Bars and nightlife

Bimbo's 365 Club
I mean, this place is legendary. If you have the opportunity to catch a show while in town, definitely do so. It's an old taste of SF.

Hotels

The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco
Well, it's the Ritz Carlton so you know what to expect. This hotel is absolutely stunning. We have played a few shows here and are never disappointed.

Points of interest

Aquarium of the Bay
This isn't the largest aquarium, but it is neat and great for the little ones. You can get through it in about an hour, so it's a nice activity to break up the day when you are visiting.
Mission District
This is a great historical landmark with original architecture. I have done a few photo shoots and shows here. It's amazing and also boasts a beautiful view of the city from afar.
Embarcadero
This is definitely the tourist spot. I would recommend going at least once to check out what it has to offer. This is also where the Aquarium is located.
Candlestick Park
Candlestick Park
While now closed, I was able to see Paul McCartney on the final evening.

Restaurants

Holy Gelato!
If you like gelato, you will love this place.
