When you arrive in Marseille you can't help but notice this shining cathedral high up on a hill-top overlooking the city. It looks so beautiful gleaming in the sunlight -- but getting there! To be fair there are buses and other things to take you there, but our tour guide decided that we should walk. We walked and walked, huffing and puffing up streets that felt almost vertical, then climbing stairs, then climbing more stairs! The views from the top were worth it, and I think everyone who visits Marseille should go. But I probably would have enjoyed the climb if we could have broken it up a bit. As it was it was a bit of a mad dash at the end of our day.
