Hot, Hot Summer in Death Valley

Death Valley Junction, CA, United States
6 Kudos
On a whirlwind road trip of the United States, we wanted to hit some of the most unique places our country has to offer. After spending a fun weekend in Las Vegas, we drove to nearby Death Valley National Park, one of the hottest places in the world! This huge park has amazing scenery unlike anything I have seen ever before! My favorite spots were the salt flats (in the pictures) and the "Artist's Palette" mountains, which were striped with a rainbow of beautiful colors!

I would recommend staying in Las Vegas if you want to visit, since it's nearby and has many more restaurant and lodging options. I think camping in the park is an option, but since we were there in the middle of summer and it was CRAZY HOT, we didn't go for it. Make sure you're prepared for the heat and bring lots of water and/or sports drinks. It was 121 degrees F when we were there!
