Historic Hot Springs

Hot Springs, AR, USA
5 Kudos
Art boutiques, spring water fountains, good eats and, yes, hot springs to soak in at one of several different fully operational bath houses (with a multitude of spa service options). In addition to the enjoyment of just walking about the main streets and popping into the many shops and galleries, one can easily enjoy the natural beauty of the area, accessing the nearby hiking trails. This town has a lot to offer any traveler. Very friendly folks, and a very interesting history. And, free parking garage makes it a breeze to leave the car behind and do some exploring on foot.

The Gangster Museum of America
Popped in and had fun looking at the memorabilia and merchandise in the gift shop. Great selection of hats.
Hot Springs Mountain Tower
Hot Springs Mountain Tower
Nice walk from town center (or park at site). Unfortunately, quite overcast when we went so didn't get to enjoy views. Although, someone from our group went next day, and pictures made it look like it is worth the $7.00 admission fee.

Points of interest

Hot Springs National Park: Fordyce Bathhouse Visitor Center
Hot Springs National Park: Fordyce Bathhouse Visitor Center
Recommend popping into the bathhouse, now the national park visitor center and museum. Beautiful stained glass (especially on third floor)

Superior Bathhouse Brewery and Distillery
Yummy root beer made from the spring water, good selection of beer and wonderful food.

Special activities

Quapaw Baths & Spa
Quapaw Baths & Spa
$18.00 to soak in the spring water (with different pools with varying temperatures). Very relaxing. Didn't try any of the extra spa services, but some in our group did and had no complaints.
