We spent two incredible weeks hiking and staying in bed-and-breakfasts in Ireland. Getting out of the airport parking lot was the first adventure--we somehow forgot that driving on the left would mean shifting with the left hand, which was harder than it looked. We drove from Dublin to Cork on our first day, stopping County Laois and the Rock of Cashel. For the next 12 days, we hiked all over the west coast, including the Dingle Peninsula, Killarney National Park, Galway City, and Glenveagh National Park. We managed to hit North Ireland as well on our drive back to Dublin--but only for about an hour, when we noticed the miles changing to kilometers on the highway.
The tiny town of Skibbereen was where we spent our first night in Ireland, and we had delicious mussels at a restaurant at the bottom of the town's only big hill.
