Just past the main stretch of shops and restaurants in Fernandina Beach is the harbor. It's pretty active with fishing boats coming in and out and you can take a cruise from here too. There is a nice boardwalk around it that runs back behind the Marina restaurant. We took a walk around it and saw so many huge pelicans that had gathered as a fisherman was cleaning his catch and throwing the left overs into the water for them. There were signs up for Manatees too but we didn't get to see any of those beautiful creatures while we were there. Just another reason why this area is so charming as you can combine this with a walk around the rest of the town as it is so close.
