Grand Targhee in the Summer

I've been to Grand Targhee in the winter for skiing, but this was the first time my family headed there for a summer vacation. We took a scenic float/paddle on the Teton River, did some downhill mountain biking at the resort, and did some hiking. You can ride the Dreamcatcher ski lift to the top of the mountain and then hike up the Summit trail for spectacular views of the Grand Teton. Note: that ride costs you $15. From there, you can ride back down on n the lift, or hike down the Bannock trail. The trail down took us about 1.5 hours. The views are lovely, and the wildflowers are everywhere! Wear shoes with good traction, and bring water. You can also hike up the Bannock trail, and then ride the lift down for free!

Our trip coincided with the Bluegrass Festival, which was quite the scene. People came and camped out at the resort for days during the festival, and you could hear the music from the hiking trails. Grand Targhee resort runs several music festivals throughput the summer, so check out their schedule if you want to plan a trip and get some entertainment in too.
