We returned to Gouvy after a trip to Brugge with our tummies rumbling. My kids were "starving" and could not make the 40 minute journey back to their uncle's house without stopping to eat first. So we headed out onto main street in Gouvy and hit up one of their local restaurants. We picked the Cafe du Luxembourg because it was open and had quick snacks to grab and enjoy on their outdoor patio. Was it kid friendly? Ehhh, not really, but my kids were okay to gobble up a snack board with meats, cheeses and olives, and it was during the day so the obvious bar scene was rather tame, with only one local enjoying some beer.
Points of interest
Rue de la Gare
Main street on which the restaurant is located. Seems to be the only place to find restaurants and shops in this small Belgian town.
Café du Luxembourg - Chez Franck
Not so family friendly, but they have a nice outdoor patio and good, quick service. Looks like it might get crazy on the weekends.
