Looking back through our photos from our latest trip to Istria, I was reminded of Liketraveling's discussion of postcards when I saw this picture. We had initially drove into Vodnjan on a typical search for a post office to try to mail postcards back home. It turned out to be a fortuitous mission, as we otherwise would not have found the impressive street art displays in this lovely old town. Luckily for us as well, this post office was situated directly across the small town square in the center, where a nice little open air cafe was open for lunch. So while I dove into a cold Ozujsko and ordered up lunch, my bride was dispatched to the post office to get things situated on the postcard front. The post was efficient and the friendly employees inside fixed her right up, knowing what she wanted even though they knew very little English to help with her non-existent Croatian language. We've spent a lot of time in Europe hunting down post offices, so I'm glad I got a picture of at least one of them!
