If traveling to Alaska on a cruise ship, make sure that it includes travel through Glacier National Park. This by far was my favorite part of my Alaskan cruise last year on the Norwegian Pearl. This is not a port of call. Rather, national park rangers boarded our ship early in the morning. We cruised through the national park with her narrating the entire time. We saw sea otters and lions, mountain goats, and a variety of birds. However, the highlight were, of course, the glaciers! The two most impressive ones were Marjorie and Johns Hopkins glaciers. The rangers are on the ship for most of the day to answer any questions. Be sure to get a spot with unobstructed views so you can get the best pictures!
