After graduating from grad school my classmate/capstone partner and I treated ourselves to a trip to Antigua. It was so much fun, beautiful and exciting, all at once. We went from one pristine beach to another around the entire island, and also took a boat up to Barbuda to explore yet another pristine beach. We stayed in the south in English Harbor, a much less touristic area. The food was not always the best (what do you expect from a former British colony.) And driving on the left side of the road was a bit disorienting. But the experience was one I will fondly remember.
Bars and nightlife
Great area to stay and eat. Check out Friday night bbq in Shirley Heights.
Points of interest
What an amazing creation of nature, both beautiful and terrifying all at once.
Valley Church Bay
Hands down the most beautiful beach in Antigua. Clear, calm water that you can float in for hours.
