While traveling in Europe, we found ourselves with a day to spend in the Getxo area of Spain. We weren't quite sure what to do, so we looked up some options in the area. We found out that there is a UNESCO site called the Vizcaya bridge. We have always found UNESCO sites well worth the time, so we hauled our two young kids to see the bridge. This bridge is a suspension transport bridge. It carries cars and people across the river in a gondola that is suspended by steel cables. We had never seen anything like this bridge! We rode the gondola across and then paid to go up an elevator to the top. We were able to walk across the top looking at informational signs along the way. It was very interesting! And our kids thought it was so much fun!
