Death Valley National Park is one of my favorite national parks. Sometimes I drove all the way from LA to the Death Valley even I only had a half day to spend during my business trip. The Furnace Creek Visitor Center is a great place to stop for first of all relaxing a bit in a good air conditioned facility after driving hours to get to Death Valley. Second, it is surely a great place to gather valuable information from knowledgeable and kindly greeting staff before you venture out to many interesting vistas in the Death valley. You can get a map and you can learn how the Death Valley was formed. While the temperature goes brutally high, but it is even feeling comfy in the morning as it opens at 8.
