On a trip to visit my husband's family who lives in Mandan and Bismarck, North Dakota, we went to Fort Abraham Lincoln for one morning. It is apparently where General Armstrong Custer was stationed before the Battle of Little Bighorn. Here, there was a house that was recreated to look as it did when General Custer lived there. An employee acted as a private giving us a tour of the home. There are a couple of original pieces. Pictured is the view from one of the "block houses" which are located on the top of a hill as a lookout area.
