I love Asian food, so as soon as I landed in Bali from Kuala Lumpur I was ready to eat! Waya, my Indonesian tour guide was anxious to take me to a traditional restaurant near Ubud for my first Balinese meal.
The restaurant was beautiful with friendly staff to match its scenic surroundings of the rice fields. I loved the fried duck and their satay!
During my stay in Ubud and Kuta, I had Nasi Goreng (Indonesian fried rice) every day! Some places will serve is simple with a sunny side up egg and others will pair it with other traditional Indonesian foods. I like it with fried chicken with pickled veggies on the side.
Also, don't miss out on the island's exotic fruits and fresh fruit choices! Every restaurant I went to had really good fresh fruit shakes/drinks!
