Sailing into the port in Torshavn in the Faroe Islands on an overcast Saturday, our first site of land was the the small island of Nólsoy 4 kilometers off the East Coast of the largest and most occupied island in the Faroe Islands - Streymoy Island where the City of Torshavn is situated. Nólsoy has a population of just over 225 people, most of whom commute over to Torshavn for work. The island has one small village of modest fisherman's homes built close together near the shoreline to provide some strength against the strong winds that pass through this part of the world, most notably in the winter.
