Babcock State Park in West Virginia is best known for its replica Grist Mill that sits along Glade Creek. The mill is without a doubt one of the premier fall foliage destinations in West Virginia, if not the entire United States. If you are in the area, you do not want to miss the mill.
As awesome as the mill area is, you should not miss the rest of Babcock State Park either. The park has some great views of the New River Gorge area. The overlooks are a great place to view the local fall foliage. They are oriented in different directions, so you will want to take note of the sun’s location for the best photographs.
In addition, the park has opportunities for hiking, camping, and various other outdoor activities. If you do not wish to camp, lodging is available in Beckley and in other nearby towns.
