Exploring the Tennyson neighborhood in Denver

Denver, CO, United States
0 Kudos
Denver has a lot to offer, and for this trip we limited our time to the more residential Tennyson neighborhood, which is to the north and west of the downtown area. There aren’t many hotels out this way, or other tourists, but there’s still a lot to see and do (and eat!) and it will give you an idea of why people say Denver is such a great place to live. We spent a couple days here before starting on a road trip to explore more of the surrounding state. With another day, we would've made some time to take a bus downtown, but we enjoyed feeling like locals for the brief time we were there.

Bars and nightlife

Living The Dream Brewing
If you’re doing any day trips to some of the area’s amazing parks, this is a great place to hit up on your way back into Denver.
De Steeg Brewing
De Steeg Brewing
Really neat place, and in warm weather there’s an outdoor seating area facing a quiet alley. Specializes in sour beers—can be on the strong side, though :)
Call to Arms Brewing Company
Call to Arms Brewing Company
One of the neighborhood’s newer breweries, close to celebrating their first year in business when we visited. Great space, set back slightly from the street.

Culture and experiences

Denver Cat Company
Denver Cat Company
Fun place to visit for a couple hours and chill with some cats, all of which are up for adoption. They do art events, too; the cat-themed paintings all over the walls definitely add to the charm of this place.

Fire On The Mountain Buffalo Wings - Denver
Great beer selection, and excellent food. Vegetarian options, too, despite the carnivorous name :)
MAS KAOS Pizzeria & Taqueria
We got dinner here one night; their tacos are great and inventive with their flavors.
DJ's Berkeley Cafe
This place was perfect for brunch, and managed to feel like an old-school diner while still offering vegetarian options.
