Enjoying a local brew

Batalha, Leiria District, Portugal
20 Kudos
We spent some time exploring Portugal and all that had to offer. Obviously while we were there we had to partake in the local food and drink. We tried a Sangres beer while in a local restaurant in Batalha and it was actually pretty good! We typically get draught or bottled beers when at a restaurant, so seeing this one come out in a can was a little surprising. Sangres is a pale lager, so it is slightly bitter, but still good. We had it with some good old fashioned pizza and they went well together. I would definitely have this brew again if I found it locally or returned to Portugal.
