Eastern Arizona is home to one of the most enchanting landscapes I have ever seen. It's called the painted desert and the best way to see it is to exit i40 and tour the national park. There are tons of pull offs where you can stop and appreciate sweeping views and vivid colors that are absolutely stunning. Beyond that there are also old indian ruins with petroglyphs that you can walk through (you can't touch them, or at least are not suppose to). The ebst part is there is a nice visitor center and navajo restaurant there too so you can enjoy lunch or dinner.
