One of the things I definitely wanted to try in Shanghai were the dumplings and boy were there plenty. It seemed like on nearly every street corner there was a local shop selling some variety of dumplings. Some looked and tasted similar to back home but some were actually very different. One thing I learned is that is traditional to dump the dumplings into a vinegar and soy sauce mix before eating them. Soup dumplings are also very popular and saw them in many places. One of the most unusual dumplings I tried was a dumpling with sweet dough but a pork filling.
