Douglas Lake & biological research station

Pellston, MI, United States
21 Kudos
Tucked away in the woods in Pellston, MI (near the tip of the mitt, in Michigan speak), there is a biological research station along the shore of Douglas Lake. Douglas Lake is basically shaped like a goldfish cracker, and the research station is on the lower fin of the tail. You can stay in a rustic little cabin (some more rustic than others, where you have to go to a different building to use the restroom, some less rustic with legit bathrooms in them, and some that are full-on homes with standard amenities). This place is beautiful - there are lots of hiking trails, rowboats and canoes, and wildlife galore.
