When in Naples makes sure not to miss this arch known as Triumphal Arch of Alfonso. It can be found near the entrance to Castel Nuovo. It is created in a late Gothic/ Early Renaissance style, with abundant sculptured decorations. It was designed and built in 1453 in honor of the entry of Alfonso I of Aragon. Walking under this beautiful arch you will feel like you are traveling about 500 years back in time and arriving into a medieval castle. Plenty to see inside Castel Nuovo - this castle was a royal seat for kings in Naples for a few generations.
